Wellness Summit Brings Together Community for a Day of Learning and Connection

On June 5, 2025, AABR proudly hosted its first-ever Move, Create & Meditate: All Abilities Wellness Summit at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. More than 100 attendees gathered for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration.

Designed to support individuals with disabilities and those who care for them, the summit welcomed professionals from across the health and wellness fields. Experts shared valuable insights with families, caregivers, and staff—focusing not just on individual support, but also on the vital role of caregiver wellbeing.

The day began with a healthy breakfast buffet that set the tone for the event, featuring fresh fruit, eggs, meats, and a hydration station—all aligned with the summit’s theme of nourishing body and mind.

Attendees then heard from a dynamic panel of speakers covering all aspects of self care, including keynote Peter J. D’Amico, The STRYDD Center at Northwell Health; Michael Kitakis, Spirit of Huntington; Constance Korol, Meta 180; Dr. Jason Pape, The Vitality Center; and Eyvette Risher, AABR. Their message was clear: to provide the best care, we must also care for ourselves—mentally, physically, and emotionally.

The summit was a powerful reminder of the importance of community, self-care, and shared learning in the work of supporting people with disabilities.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the sponsors who helped make the day possible: Four Leaf Credit UnionSentinel GroupUSISenid PlumbingCommunity Care RxGS&S AwningsSparx TechnologiesHope Fitness, and The Law Office of Patricia Gunning.
