As the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic captured global headlines and panic rapidly spread, one of the first items to disappear from shelves and inventory was Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes proper masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns. All of which our direct care staff and individuals absolutely need to be safe.
With shrinking supplies came increasing and sometimes astronomical costs. We cannot put a price on the safety of these people, so we have done our best to supply them with what is available.
Unfortunately, maintaining a working level of these supplies, along with a drastic loss of income due to program closures, has taken a toll on our finances. We are asking you to please give what you can so that we can keep our individuals and staff covered in the safest Personal Protective Equipment.
While many businesses can close during this crisis, our residences can not shut down. As you may have read, we have had multiple positive COVID-19 tests among our individuals. Our brave staff is still there caring for them. Our residents are some of the most vulnerable members of our population, and we will continue to be there for them no matter how dire this situation gets. We hope you can be there for them as well.
